Human extermination across worlds by an opposing race and culture which had been done the same prior; so bittersweet was the irony that came with their revival. That simple statement alone gave them all the warning they would need, though how seriously it should be taken was also questionable. There was no doubt that they were capable, considering the important first impressions long ago etched and set minutes ago at the Ruins. There was a strong desire to simply follow them, find the man responsible for such ruthless murder and ideals, and end it there. But no, the words they had been left with worried her more, and Amarant's outburst took with it whatever seething anger she would have harbored.

...problems in your own world to deal with. I wouldn't suspect that it will take him long to finish preparations there.

Were Yuna and the others all right? She shook away the doubt before it could fully surface. They were much more capable than that. But what did the messenger mean by preparations?

"We've learned more than enough here. We should go back," she stated, though the words also served as a question to check for Auron's opinion as she turned back to him. As an afterthought, remembering that they would be likely to return, "Is there a way that we'll be able to see you again here, King Puck?"
"Yes. We should return. I've heard enough," Auron stated as he nodded in reply to Paine's question. Now, at least, they had an answer about what had happened in Zanarkand, however unpleasant it was. Now, they had a new problem on hand, one which they should not underestimate. There was no rest for some, indeed.

The warrior glanced toward the portal through which the nezumi had disappeared. Dan's words had struck him the same as they had Paine. Preparations for what? Mass destruction of the human race? That was the only goal that this madman seemed to have in store. It was important that he was stopped before his plans were set in motion.

Auron glanced at the others still gathered there. They would be strong allies, and surely they now definitely had a common enemy. Amarant's opinion on the matter was especially visible. "There's no time to waste, then. Defending against a threat like this will be no easy task. We'll have to do all we can to end this."
